In his book, “Speak, Precious Stones” Robert Barr writes concerning the carnelian stone:
This carnelian stone is remarkable for its transparency. Hold it up to the light, and one can see right through it. Again this is eloquent of Jesus. He has nothing to hide. There was nothing shady in His character. He had no dark secrets in His bosom. He was pure through and through. His motives, His words, and His deeds were absolutely clean. Never a breath of scandal touched Him. His whole life was sweet as the winds of the morning across the Judean hills. No less wonderful was the transparency He gave to all who through Him received the new life. “Now ye are clean through the word that I have spoken unto you,” He said to His disciples in the upper room. John reiterates the marvelous fact of cleansing. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. (1 John 1:9) Do you long to be clean? Christ can do it.
