AT THE DOOR

…it would be a shirking of duty and privilege if I neglected to say something about the proximity of the return of the Lord…

With things as precipitous as they are world- wide; with our own country sinking closer to the edge of total collapse because of the moral degeneracy; with our laws being skirted and gradually negated… it would be a shirking of duty and privilege if I neglected to say something about the proximity of the return of the Lord for His own, and the blight which has become almost unbelievable, and corruption abounding.

Matthew wrote concerning the fig tree.  Often we see Israel is likened to the fig tree.  When she as a nation was restored, we were of the opinion that the truth of Matthew 24 was getting closer to fruition.  Because the portion selected is in the middle of two groups of events that will be rolling on and on, there has been disagreement as to the time period when it should all surface.

It is not my purpose to argue.  It is simply to say that the picture is one of a gradual spiritual, moral and ultimately national and international abyss, with every acre of ground in the world experiencing its effects, which are currently irreversible.  It is corruption, at its peak!  According to the verses we have read, there is little doubt that “He (Jesus) is near, right at the door!”

Personally, I see the Rapture of the Church as the up-coming event.  When that happens there will be no restraining force in the world.  The domino effect will be evident.  Having a continual upheaval will be the norm and that will continue for seven years.

With such a description of those days, being like that of Noah, “For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the day of Noah.  For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the Ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.  Therefore, be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming.”
