In the early 50’s, before I even became a Christian, there were things in my life that took place; several of which I look back on that probably was the Lord reaching out and prepping me to respond in a very positive fashion to His calling me to Himself. It was not dramatic, but it did influence my thinking.
As I rode to work each day, I noticed a sign erected in front of a Brethren Assembly. It contained a combination of two verses from 1 Peter 1:18 & 19… “Knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things …but with the precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.” It imbedded itself into my brain. It had to be the work of the Holy Spirit!
A second experience presented itself from an open Bible. A man opened a Bible Book Room in Bermuda on Church Street in Bermuda. My route to work made it necessary that I pass that Book Room every day. Though I confess that it was not my interest in spiritual things, (I will not talk about the other direction of my life.) There was a Bible opened to different Scriptures daily and I took time to read it, hoping against hope that some of my friends would not catch me looking through that window reading Scripture. As I look back, God was preparing me. Some might suggest it as circumstantial, but to me it was God at work.)
This Blog is dedicated to that type of ministry, trusting God the Holy Spirit, to cause an individual here and there to consider Christ as their Savior and Lord.
(I must inject… That Brother in Christ became my first Bible teacher.)
If God is encouraging you toward Himself, let go and allow Him to be both Savior and Lord!
