There are many times when slowing down is not part of my agenda. From a young age my dad would say, “Teddy, go cut the grass.” I’d respond with, “I just did it yesterday.” His counter, “Well, do it again!”
I was always taught to keep busy, sometimes to a fault. So with my latest injury (broken hip) putting on the brakes, I have had to put into practice Philippians 4:11, “…for I have learned in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”
God has seen fit to heal me far faster than I, or anyone, had anticipated. Much of this is to do with the prayers of many and the care from family. Because of this, I am able to start the blog up again.
This Thanksgiving, take time to slow down. Learn to be thankful for the rest. Learn to accept others doing for you, and be content; follow the words of our Lord in Philippians 4:11.
“The key to contentment is to consider. Consider who you are and be satisfied with that. Consider what you have and be satisfied with that. Consider what God’s doing and be satisfied with that. You will be amazed at how much more comfortable you’ll feel with yourself. Finally, consider this: If contentment cannot be found within yourself, you’ll never find it.” -Luci Swindoll
Welcome back. Missed these. Glad you are recovering and can continue writing. HappyThanksgiving.
