I find it interesting that we have two groups of people, Democrats and Republicans, both promising that they have better programs for us in the future. Some of those promises have been clarified; others are not defined; still others are your guess and mine.
Maybe, just maybe, some of those will be detailed and some will be buried so deep that we will have to use our imagination to come up with an understanding of what they might mean. The end of whatever is said will wend itself through the House and Senate, and finally we will only hope it to be the proper balance for America.
When you read the Book of Hebrews, whose authorship remains debatable, you discover that there need not be a debate about the authors understanding of the Hebrew background. In fact, the opening verses clearly indicate how he saw a major transition from a promised Messiah to its fulfillment in the person of Jesus Christ. I quote: “God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they.”
Now, to some of those BETTER THINGS that He provided us as a result of the transition that occurred with the realization of the promised Messiah in the person of Jesus Christ.
Better Things (6:9)
A Better Hope (7:19)
A Better Covenant (8:6)
Better Promises (8:6)
Better Sacrifices (9:23)
Better Substance (10:34)
Better Resurrection (11:35)
Better Country (11:16)
Better Blood (12:24)
Let’s face it … Through Christ everything is BETTER!
