Some time back, the ladies of the family… my wife, daughter, and two of my granddaughters, went on a shopping trip at a group of outlet stores.  When they arrived home that evening, everyone had to show off their wares.

At the close of the session, our older granddaughter, with eyes wide and a look of extreme satisfaction said, “Poppy!  It was like Heaven!”

With my lack of appreciation about shopping, I am glad that she was not accurate in that regard.  However, it is with confidence that I await the moment of entrance into Heaven, for there I shall be satisfied.

Heaven has been described as “the abode of God” (Deuteronomy 26:15) as well as the future home of the saints.  It is a place where the redeemed of all nations shall be assembled. (Revelation 7:9 & 21:1)  It is built by the hand of God. (2 Corinthians 5:1 and Colossians 1:5)  It is described as containing the “tree of life”, the place where we store treasures, a place of many mansions, and multiplied other phrases depict the essence of the ultimate.

Most importantly is that Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.  Those invited to occupy it, and those who will be present there, are those who have given positive response to the one who is seated there, at the right hand of the Father. (John 14:2)

Everything that I know of today is limited by the finite.  There everything will be in the infinite.  Because of our limitations in comprehending that sphere of reality, God promises a “glorified body” that will not have the restraints currently embracing us.  However, access is limited to those who are obedient to His commandments. (Revelation 22:14)  This, then, is your invitation to renounce your sin and, by faith, accept Him as your Savior.  You, too, can look forward to your Heavenly home.
