BIOSPHERE 1 OR 2

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

GENESIS 1:1

Our visit to Biosphere 2 was an experience long to be remembered. While my brain does not revel in the scientific realm, it is sufficiently adaptable to comprehend with fascination something of this magnitude.

Having completed our tour and preparing for departure, a thought penetrated my mind. Here we are, endeavoring to produce a situation that is self-sustaining, but having to utilize everything necessary for the experiment from Biosphere 1. It was an exciting moment! They had done a monumental work and yet had to rely on the Creator Himself for the provision of the material for such a performance.

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1) In the succeeding chapters, elaboration continues on the what, when and how. Try as man might to explain it away with his theories, the truth is that God is the creator of it all.

While they argue about the management process, we live in the present system under the providential hand of an omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent God who carefully manages it for a consistent operation from day to day. (Psalm 19) The local boys, scientists, depend upon that fact for their experiments in all areas to retain accuracy.

John in his gospel indicates (1:3cf) that Jesus Christ was the Creator of it all. He is life itself. He is the guarantee of a continued existence following our 70 years, plus or minus, on this earth. According to John 14:6, Jesus alone is the way to heaven, and He alone is worthy of our worship.
