“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”Jeremiah 1:5
Years ago I read from Jeremiah 1:5, the words: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.” The conception and growth of a child in the womb is under the hand of the Lord. God makes it clear “before YOU, consecrated YOU, appointed YOU.” The circumstances under which the conception of any child takes place may not have been ideal, nevertheless, that child, in the providence of God are just what was developed by our Father. Treat that child as from God.
We live in a fleshly driven society. In all probability an unrestrained moment of sexual indulgence is a mighty price to pay for what might possibly develop. Gratefully, God can take that situation, and similar or worse situations, and turn it into blessing. Jeremiah did not want to preach; he felt that his youth and speaking ability was such that it would be a hindrance. “The Lord stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.” God appointed him to a prophetic ministry. It is another one of those “All things” of Romans 8:28.
