Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20

The Scriptures contain several quotes that include the thought that is found in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (NASB)

Inasmuch as the Christian has made a commitment of their life to Jesus Christ, and they have experienced baptism, hence they are to “Go” into all the world. Someone said that the “go” was actually a “Come with me to the work”. It is most blessed to think that I was invited to join Christ in and propagating the glorious gospel of salvation. You are also invited to join with Him in making known the truth that He alone is the means by which one must enter the gates of glory – Heaven.

The message is a very personalized instruction that does not mean “send someone who will do the job for me”, although that might be necessary in some unusual situations, the main thought here is what I should do with my own direct involvement. I am to go into my own environment, in my own day to day activities, to the people that I comingle with, and share Christ and His message to them. “I am the Light of the world”,”Salvation is by grace through faith only”,”You must be born anew, from above!” Next on the agenda is Baptism, which should be a public display of your new found faith.

Please do not think that writing out a check will suffice; it will help in the overall response to a needy world, but it does not release you or me from our obedience to His “Go”, or as another said, “Come with Me to the work.”
