“For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.”
1 John 2:16
For a long time I have thought to myself, and shared with others, “If man evolved, some problems seem to present themselves”.
A man and a woman would have had to evolve at the same time, at the identical physical development as exists, in order for pro-creation to take place. The mathematical possibility of such an occurrence is so far removed that common sense or logic would not support it. Where in the world did that woman come from at that precise time- especially when one considers the limited time for conception and reproduction? It may not befuddle you, but it surely does this old codger. In listening to the vocabulary of arguments I find my thinking to appear in support of creation by God.
Next… When I see all these signs that say, in effect, that a woman has the right over her body, as relating to an abortion, all types of pondering occupies my brain. There is no necessity for a woman to get pregnant in the first place, or for a man to engage in sex, knowing that there are inherent possibilities as a result. (I am not referring to rape.)
We have gradually condoned sexual promiscuity from a variety of angles: in our educational institutions, inappropriate dress, our advertising techniques, in the laws of our country, and the list goes on. The woman says: “It is MY BODY… My BABY!! Following the birth of the child, the courts say: “Sir! You are obligated to pay support for YOUR child,” and when he disappears it becomes the obligation of the tax-payer. It all started in a “heated” moment that had gradually been interpreted to mean, “It is OK!” Somewhat unrealistically people are molded into an understanding that the child is not OURS.
Consider this! It will not be long before the effort to legalize prostitution will be on the docket; (A woman will say: “It is my body!) Suicide will be considered as a “norm” and we will be back to a complete abandonment of that which has been established as from God and His Word. That of course means that one would not be accountable to anyone!!!
As I see it …It is sick thinking! It is mind trickery. It leads to: “You cannot tell me”! Some “old fashioned ideas” should be retained and others reinstated. We have all been infected by its insidious perversions. Previous generations sought to have things their own way– “the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life” (1 John 2:16) and paid the price. At our present rate of declension the end is not far off. It is time to REPENT!
In your opening of The Lords Prayer my mind went immediately to what I’m teaching Keeley this school term…The Lords Prayer and its meaning…at 5 she’s so receptive ….I’m truly blessed to have such a wonderful family…
